🥬 Fresh from GRAPA Garden! 🌱 Fresh, locally grown vegetables and Hopefield eggs available this Saturday, 10 October, from 8am–11am.
Turning Neglect into Nurture
Since 2020, the Gabriel Road Area Project Association has been transforming neglected public space in Plumstead into a productive community asset. The GRAPA garden grows fresh produce, supports dignified work, strengthens neighbourhood connections and shows what becomes possible when a community chooses to care.
How GRAPA Grew
A neglected public space became a community garden through persistence, practical work and shared purpose.
Our market will be stocked with fresh, locally grown vegetables including carrots, leeks, pak choi, lettuce, celery, broccoli, spinach, kale, beetroot and cabbage, along with Hopefield eggs and our garden compost. Come for the fresh produce, take a wander through the garden, and support this community growing space.

GRAPA Garden | Corner of Bardia and Gabriel Roads, Plumstead
GRAPA facilitated clean-ups in nearby public spaces. Not all locations are in the garden. There is an ongoing need to maintain what was achieved.
A mix of wider-area clean-ups and practical work that needed to be undertaken before the garden could be established. Routine cleanups are organised on an ongoing basis
The results, happy faces, and a community garden.
Neighbourhood action and practical garden work → an established, productive garden.
GRAPA brings together food growing, community safety, environmental care, employment and local connection. Visitors can buy seasonal produce, attend markets and experience the garden. Volunteers can contribute practical help. Supporters and partners can help protect and extend the work.
Visit the garden. Get involved. Help GRAPA grow.
